The project is run by the leading institution Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Energy Engineering, and partner institution, Reykjavík University.


The Czech technical university in Prague (and its part Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) is focused on tertiary education as well as on research and development in technical disciplines. Research and creative activity is the basic right and obligation of the academic staff at the university. This activity allows their professional development, enables integration of science and education and presents university and its faculties to the public. The scientific research and development as well as creative technical activities are realized within the specific research and implementation of projects that are financed by institutional support, national and international grant competitions and cooperation with industry. Transfer of technologies and development of innovations is implemented through construction of systems, development of new materials and technical solutions, development of instrumentation and measurement techniques and methods. Results and achievements at the university and faculties are annually published in the proceedings “CTU Research Activity Report”. Recognized experts of the faculties are members of numerous scientific, expertise and management boards and in evaluation and standardization committees. Very important are consultation, expertise and reviewing activities. The faculties take active part in numerous national and international research centres that are worldwide recognized.


The Háskólinn í Reykjavík (Reykjavík University) comprises of four schools: the School of Business, School of Computer Science, School of Law, and the School of Science and Engineering. We presently offer 20 Masters programs taught entirely in English, several PhD programmes and a number of Undergraduate modules in English. The University offers programmes in the field of Sustainable Energy (Iceland School of Energy), which are offered in collaboration with industry experts in Iceland. The University also offers an AMBA accredited MBA programme and the Undergraduate studies in the school of business are accredited by EPAS.
